FUN weekend!

We went to Syracuse for the weekend and had a great time!

We had a graduation party Friday night - congrats Kelley! Natalie was such a ham, of course! She was practicing her walking skills. It is a lot more difficult to have a conversation with people now that she's REALLY mobile!!!

Then, on Saturday my Mom's side of the family came for a visit. The weather was goofy, but it ended up being a nice day. Natalie even went swimming with cousin Emily! It was great to see everyone and Great Nana and Great Papa even took us for ice cream! YUM!!!

We found out that my Grandma had to have surgery Saturday morning, but luckily it went well and she seems to be doing ok. She'll be recovering for several weeks and she'll be in the hospital for a bit, but thank goodness she'll be ok.

We came back to the B-lo today - although we were alerted that we have an 8ft ANACONDA slithering around our neighborhood someplace. It got loose from its owner - YUCK! I don't even want to think about it.

Nana is on her way to see us now - she will be babysitting Natalie for us while the babysitter takes a well deserved vacation this week!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend!

What does your fridge say about you?

What Your Fridge Says About You

You like to be surrounded by things you love. You aren't exactly greedy, but you can be materialistic at times.

You tend to be a fairly thrifty person. You splurge occasionally, but you're mostly a saver.

You don't tend to be a very adventurous person, but you do surprise everyone now and then. You have a bit of a wild side.

You try to be responsible, but you don't always succeed. Your heart is in the right place though.

You are likely to be married - and very busy.

10 Things I LOVE about my 13-month old

I'm totally stealing this idea from 2 blogs that I read: Three Green Beans and Spunkytoes. What a great way to share what Natalie is doing right now!

1. I love how curious she is - Natalie loves to point at everything and ask "Whats that?"

2. When we talk a walk in her wagon, she has to have a book with her and she "reads" on the trip!

3. If she can't do it one way, she'll do it another! She hasn't quite mastered the balance to walk yet, so she walks on her knees. Its ok when she's on the grass or carpet, but when she hits the pavement - OUCH!

4. She's understanding when she has to go potty. When she was in the bath last night, Jeff asked her if she had to go poopy in the potty and she tried to climb out of the tub! And sure enough, she went. Even better - she clapped for herself after she went! (before me or Jeff!)

5. I love the big crazy bed hair she wakes up with.

6. I love when she dances. Whenever she hears any kind of beat, she dances. Even in her carseat she does this cute little shimmie.

7. She says "hi" on the phone - it always makes someones day! (Especially Nana or Aunt Katie!)

8. She "helps" you get her dressed in the morning

9. I loved the pure joy I saw on her face when she discovered there were TWO Teddys in her crib with her (1 Teddy is a backup). She wouldn't let them go for a good half an hour! It was like Christmas!

10. I love her little Natalie kisses, especially when she just leans over and gives you one. What a sweetheart!

Jeff and his Dad finished Natalie's swing set this weekend. It was a birthday gift from her Nana and Poppy, Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Katie and Kevin, Uncle Cory and Krystle, and Uncle Steve and Aunt Sarah.

This is what pure joy looks like.

Pottys, Pools, and Pinches - OH MY!!!!

As usual, we've had a lot going on in the Huber household! Gee - wonder why I can never find time to post?

What to start with first? I guess we'll start with the not-so-great...
Natalie has started hitting, biting, and pinching! She mostly does it when she's mad at you or frustrated. I have no idea how to deal with this. I don't think she "gets" time out. She laughs or ignores us when we say no or ouch. What else can you really do with a 13 month old? I have had a few suggestions of picking her up and setting her away from me when she does it - so I might try that next. I've also heard that biting them back works - haven't tried that yet, but I'm thinking about pinching her back. Honestly, I'm at the point of - whatever works.

Some exciting stuff...Natalie has gone poopy on the potty THREE TIMES!!! We just introduced the potty to her about a week and a half ago. I'm so shocked and impressed. She has been showing signs of knowing when she has to go poop for awhile now. She grabs her butt, she hides, she squats. So, I thought I would just go get a potty to start introducing it to her - I never in a million years thought she would actually GO POTTY anytime soon! The interesting thing - she will NOT sit on the potty unless she has to go. If you put her on there just for the heck of it, she cries. But last night she was showing her "poop signs" in the bath and Jeff asked her "do you need go go poopy in the potty?" and she reached her arms up to get out of the bath and sat on the potty! Obviously, we're no where NEAR potty trained, but I'm glad she is understanding the feeling of going and getting used to sitting on the potty.

Natalie also when swimming in a BIG pool for the first time last weekend and she LOVED it. I'm hoping to get her in a swim activity sometime soon. And if I can't find one, well, there are perks to having the Varsity swim coach as your husband!! We also went to the zoo last weekend - it was a good day to go because not many people were there and Natalie really got a chance to check out all the animals. She loved all the "kitties", elephants, penguins, and turtles.

You may or may not have noticed that I added some new blogs to check out - they are food blogs and I am jumping on the food blog bandwagon and linking you to them! I might do some food stuff in this blog once in awhile, we'll see.

And now for some pictures!
