Birthdays, Weddings, and Doctor's appointments!!!

We have been so busy the past week or so!!

Little miss Natalie June is 1 year old!!! She had a great birthday and we celebrated with a few friends and family. We'll be having the big party this weekend!

Natalie had her 12 month check up at the doctor yesterday and she's looking great!! All healthy!! She got her MMR shot - boo! But she was a trooper. We have to get some blood work done...not looking forward to that one little bit. We decided to skip the Chicken Pox vaccine for now.

Now, I've been saying the last month or so that she's really had quite a growth spurt, but I had no idea how much of a growth spurt!! Holy cow!! She's 22 pounds and 30 inches long!! She's in the 90th percentile for height! She used to be in the 50th for height and 25th for weight...no more I guess!! That completely explains why the jeans I bought her from babyGap didn't fit 2 weeks later!

We had Uncle Steve and Aunt Sarah's wedding this past weekend. The weather was nice and everyone had a good time. Natalie was an angel as usual - she's always such a good girl, especially when we need her to be! Poor baby was EXHAUSTED though. It was really hard for me to leave her for the first time (overnight!) and I cried!! Wasn't expecting to do that! Pictures coming soon!

Celebrity Moms

I am so damn sick and tired about reading these articles on these celebrity Moms saying how much they're loving every second of being a Mom and its just so fun and easy. I was just reading an article about Nicole and Harlow in Bazaar, then the one with JLo and the twins in People, and I'm forgetting some of the other recent ones...

Of COURSE its so much fun - you've got a damn assistant for god's sake!!! You had an assistant just to assist you with going about your regular life!!!! Why? Why do you have an assistant? Oh and don't forget the baby nurses that are around 24/7!! Shit, I'd have already had my second kid by now and be TTC my third if I had a baby nurse at my beck and call!!!

I am so sick and tired of these rich, out of touch with reality celebrities making motherhood look like its a walk in the park. I love my daughter more than I ever imagined and I'm so happy I have her, but never ever ever ever EVER would I say that it has been easy OR fun!!! Yes, I have fun with her, but I don't think motherhood is fun. I don't know, maybe I'm in the minority on that one?

I wish they would do an article on someone who is truly experiencing motherhood the way the rest of us "regular people" do. I wish they would talk about the good things AND the bad things. I'm sick of hearing about how calm and relaxing and balanced these new Moms are. I'd be balanced too if I had an assistant. I can't even get my secretary to assist me.

Ok, vent over.

Wait, P.S. - I'm also sick of seeing how perfect they look 4 weeks after giving birth. How are regular people NOT supposed to get a complex?

Broken Elbows and other such nonsense...

I had to take a hiatus from my blogging because...yup...you guessed it! I broke my elbow on vacation in OBX. Seriously, who does that? I slipped on a tile floor - ouch! It isn't even an exciting story!

So, I've been trying to recover from that on top of getting ready for Stevie's wedding and Natalie's FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!

Our vacation was nice - minus the whole broken elbow incident. Natalie was sooooooo good! I'm so proud of her! I hope we can go back again sometime soon!

Things have been tough for Jeff since we got back beacuse not only does he have Natalie to take care of, but me as well!!! I'm getting better, but I still have a hard time lifting things with my arm and taking care of Natalie. It also seems as though Natalie is getting some more teeth - she has been miserable this week!! I hope they pop through soon - she seems so unhappy!

Here are some pictures!!
